The following student organizations are affiliated and supported by the College of Medicine's Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
The Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA) is committed to addressing the unique health challenges of Asian Pacific American communities through education, outreach, advocacy and service. Our purpose is to celebrate Asian culture and to foster awareness of health issues in the Asian-American community.
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender & Allies (LGBT&A) in Medicine is committed to exploring and serving the unique needs of LGBT students, physicians, patients, and their supporters. We provide a safe place to connect with other members of the community, and tackle the most current and pressing health and career concerns.
The University of Cincinnati Minority Housestaff Association is a newly formed organization established under the direction of several residents, to create opportunities for the advancement of underrepresented house staff through mentorship, networking, professional development and community engagement.
The Student National Medical Association (SNMA) is an organization dedicated to addressing the needs and concerns of minorities in medicine and in the community. It also seeks to aid in the successful completion of the medical curriculum by its members.
Further goals include disseminating information pertaining to minority student concerns in medical education, sponsoring programs to encourage the entrance of minorities into the health professions and raising levels of minority recruitment.
