Diabetes affects more than 120,000 people in Greater Cincinnati, many of whom do not receive the treatment they so desperately need. This impacts our community’s health status, reduces productivity and drives up the cost of health care.
The Cincinnati Diabetes Obesity Center combines internationally renowned programs in education, research and clinical care at the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and University of Cincinnati Medical Center to address one of the most pressing health care issues of our time
Physicians, nurse practitioners, nutritionists, certified diabetes educators and ophthalmologic and podiatric specialists at UC Health and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center provide a continuum of care for children and adults with diabetes and other metabolic and endocrine disorders.
Clinicians are focused on using evidence-based medicine to better manage diabetes and related health complications and work alongside research scientists to translate new discoveries into better patient care.
