The department of Anesthesiology offers one one-year Obstetric Anesthesia position at the PGY-5 level through the San Francisco matching program (SF Match).

Application Process

Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology (SOAP) has developed a universal online application for all applicants to complete and to select the program to which you wish to apply. The instructions and helpful links can be found here: https://www.soap.org/ob-anesthesiology-fellowships.

The applicants must meet all requirements and credentialing of the University of Cincinnati Medical Center GME office. Applicants must have achieved a passing score on USMLE Step 3 or COMLEX Step 3. The selection committee, which is composed of the anesthesiology faculty, reviews applications from those candidates meeting these criteria and appropriate individuals are invited for interviews.

Applicants are interviewed by as many members of the obstetric faculty as possible and without exception by the program director. Applicants also have the opportunity to meet with the current fellow in a less formal environment such as over lunch.

Medical Degree
U.S. citizenship, resident alien or J-1 visa
USMLE Scores - Must have passed Step III
Eligibility for Temporary Medical License
Graduate of ACGME certified Anesthesiology Residency Program
