The Genomics, Epigenomics and Sequencing Core (GESC), originally named as Sequencing and Microarray Laboratory, was established in 1999. GESC is a fee-for-service, one-stop core facility that provides genomics- and epigenomics-related services to researchers at the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children's Hospital as well as other institutions and organizations on contract or collaboration bases.
In 2011, the Core started to provide next generation sequencing (NGS) services. In 2012, it was transformed to a NGS-based core lab. Since then, it has been expanding its services.
Equipped with Illumina HiSeq and Automatic Library Preparation System, the Core routinely provides a variety of NGS services such as RNA-seq, miRNA-seq, ChIP-seq, methyl-seq, and Infinium BeadChip assay including HumanMethylationEPIC for DNA methylation studies. In addition, the Core also provides a series of other supportive services to meet researchers’ needs.
GESC is supported in part by CEG grant (NIEHS P30-ES006096 to Shuk-Mei Ho). Please cite this grant and our Core in all related publications and notify us. We appreciate your support.
