Art Pancioli, MD, completed his undergraduate work at the University of Michigan in 1987, receiving a degree in computer science. He continued at the University of Michigan, receiving his medical degree in 1991. He attended the Emergency Medicine residency training program at the University of Cincinnati where he served as chief resident during his fourth year, graduating in 1995.
Dr. Pancioli joined the faculty at the UC College of Medicine as an Assistant Professor and the Associate Residency Director. He subsequently assumed the role of Vice-Chair in 2000, later being named the Professor and Richard C. Levy Chair for Emergency Medicine in 2010.
Dr. Pancioli’s primary research is in the arena of acute ischemic stroke therapy. He has been the principal investigator or co-investigator on 10 grants and contracts, with national and corporate sponsors including the National Institute of Health, the Neurological Institute and the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine.
His principal investigator grants included the Neurological Emergencies Treatment Trials (NETT) Network-Cincinnati Hub, SPOTRIAS Project-the CLEAR Trial, and Current Emergency Department Management of TIA.
Dr. Pancioli has been a member of the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Stroke Team since 1995.
