Conference Schedules

There are two Invasive/Interventional Conferences designed specifically for the educational needs of interventional fellows.

Didactic Conference: This conference systematically reviews the procedural core knowledge base that must be mastered by interventional fellows before completion of the program. This conference covers all important core concepts in invasive and interventional cardiology, using a mentored tutorial approach.

There is a schedule of assigned topics for presentation, generated by the interventional fellows. The didactic session has numerous balanced components which include topics given by mentored tutorial approach and attending presentation, fellow presentation and board review.

Clinical Case Conference: This conference is the review of cases for patient and device selection to analyze the technical aspects of procedures and the management of complication.

Research Conference
The Interventional Cardiology Research conference is held each month and typically consists of presentations from researchers within the division, including the interventional group and those associated with the various clinical trials. This includes multidisciplinary clinical trials as well as investigator-initiated translational research.

Journal Club
A monthly literature review is held where fellows alternate selecting and presenting literature. This is attended by interventional faculty, nurse practitioners and clinical trials support staff. There is detailed discussion of the manuscript which is distributed several days prior to the session.
