Research Mission

To contribute to scientific advances in the understanding and treatment of mental illness.

Through our clinical trials program, the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience offers many opportunities to participate in the advancement of mental health care.

Studies are available for adults and children/adolescents in areas of addiction, mood disorders and women’s health. With the help of volunteer participants, these studies can lead to more effective treatments and improvements in quality-of-life. Please consider participating in one of our current clinical trials.  

SPOTLIGHT STUDY

Community and academic mental health centers in the greater Cincinnati and New York City regions are participating in a large, pragmatic trial entitled MOBILITY- Metformin for Overweight and Obese Children and Adolescents with Bipolar Spectrum Disorders Treated with Second-Generation Antipsychotics. Its purpose is to determine if a lifestyle intervention or a lifestyle intervention plus metformin helps children and teens prevent or reverse weight gain caused by certain medications.
