About the Division

The Musculoskeletal Section at the University of Cincinnati is comprised of fellowship-trained, board-certified musculoskeletal radiologists, providing high quality diagnostic imaging and interventional procedures related to the musculoskeletal system. Although our physical locations are at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, West Chester Hospital, and Varsity Village Imaging Center, we interpret musculoskeletal imaging from many clinics and imaging centers throughout the Greater Cincinnati area.

Our fellowship-trained musculoskeletal radiologists have trained or worked at medical centers throughout the country and bring their knowledge to the University of Cincinnati. In addition, their national and international reputations speak of their experience and expertise. Dovetailed with our clinical responsibilities includes our mission to provide superb training to our residents and fellows. The musculoskeletal section is also involved in many research projects as well as global outreach. It is our privilege to provide the highest quality diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal services to our patients.

Clinical Subspecialized Exams

Our section offers full-service musculoskeletal Diagnostic Imaging, including:

• Radiography
• Arthrography
• Computed tomography (CT)
• Musculoskeletal and peripheral nerve ultrasound
• Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)

The Musculoskeletal Section at the University of Cincinnati also offers a range of musculoskeletal Interventional Procedures. Utilizing imaging guidance, we can ensure accurate needle placement optimizing efficacy while minimizing procedural discomfort. Examples of our imaging-guided musculoskeletal procedures include:

• Joint, bursal, and tendon sheath injections
• CT and MR arthrography
• Cyst aspiration
• Mass biopsy
• Calcific tendinitis aspiration
• Nerve injection
• Various tendon treatments (tenotomy, whole blood injection)
