How To Apply

The Plastic Surgery Residency Program at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center will be offering one integrated and one independent position for the matriculation year 2021-2022. The residency program at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) and adheres to the dates and deadlines set forth by the NRMP. All applications must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

Other important points:

• USMLE Step I and Step II must be passed prior to the start of residency.
• Letters of recommendation from people who know you well and have worked with closely are preferred. If you have done research or worked closely with an attending, a strong letter will be helpful.
• The Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Cincinnati does not sponsor visas.
• Application deadlines, procedure for interview offers, and procedure for interview acceptance are set by ACAPS.

All offers are contingent upon successful completion of the credentialing and hiring processes prior to the start date. Credentialing requirements include, but are not limited to, obtaining appropriate licensure to practice medicine in the State of Ohio, verification of medical school graduation, and any previous residency training, verification of any previous medical licenses and the passing of a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Interview Day:

We currently offer two interview dates for both the integrated and independent programs. Our interview dates consist of a social event with our residents the evening before or after each interview day. Each candidate is interviewed by a wide range of our faculty and residents. Based on ACAPS and ASPS recommendations, interviews will be conducted virtually this year.
