Welcome to the Division of Nephrology, Kidney CARE Program at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
It’s a privilege to lead a team of extremely talented individuals who work for a common goal of furthering our tri-partite mission: clinical advancement, research and education. We are able to achieve our goals by relying on foundational principles of strategic growth, operational efficiency, customer service, innovation & discovery, and talent management.
First and foremost, we strive to deliver excellent care to our patients. One of the ways we achieve this is by bringing the latest discoveries in the field of Nephrology closer to bedside. We are recognized regionally and nationally for leading and/or contributing to cutting-edge research, and advancing the knowledge about kidney diseases to patients, peers and trainees. This is achieved via a variety of mediums, including peer-reviewed publications, chapters and monographs, symposia, and focused learning sessions within the institution and the community.
The division conducts basic and translational research alongside robust programs in clinical outcomes research and clinical trials within Nephrology. With our state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, we provide an academic home to our established research faculty and are committed to training graduate and post-doctoral students.
Nephrology is at a critical juncture in shaping the future of the next generation of physicians. At the same time, we are entering an exciting era of new advancements in the clinical care and research arena. Our goal is to nurture interests, beginning with medical student education, resident training, and renal fellowship programs. We offer an exciting array of training opportunities in Nephrology, including enhanced training in transplantation, dialysis, and quality improvement and patient safety. We are committed to training physicians and investigators to become leaders within the discipline of Nephrology.
I am delighted to say that achievements by the faculty across our tri-partite missions have been recognized at national and international levels. This allows us to continually raise the bar and create an atmosphere to bring out the best in us at our work place.
I invite you to explore our website and find out what the University of Cincinnati and our program have to offer.
Sincerely,Amit Govil, MDDivision Director
