Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and the University of Cincinnati offer a combined Residency in Pediatrics, Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (Triple Board).
This five-year integrated program qualifies graduates for board certification in each of these specialties.
Triple Board residents become experts in all areas of child and adolescent health, growth, development and behavior.
Residents gain experience in the assessment and management of co-morbid pediatric and psychiatric disorders, as well as psychosocial aspects of normal childhood development and well-child care.
Graduates are well-prepared for practice opportunities in Pediatrics, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and academic medicine, training, and research.
Throughout the training, an integrated bio-psychosocial approach to psychiatry is emphasized. Residents graduate with a strong foundation in the theory and practice of psychotherapy, as well as state-of-the-art psychopharmacology.
