John M. Tew, Jr., MD, Award in Surgical Neuro-Oncology

The John M. Tew, Jr., MD, Award in Surgical Neuro-Oncology is an annual award intended to stimulate brain tumor research by neurosurgical residents at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. The award is sponsored by the UC Brain Tumor Center to recognize Dr. John Tew’s contributions to the field of surgical neuro-oncology.

The award provides a $2,000 prize each spring to a resident who has proposed and completed the most compelling research project during the academic year.

The focus of the work should be on brain tumors (primary or metastatic) and could consist of either basic science or clinical research. Basic science research with potential translation to clinical trials will be given special consideration. Clinical research could be either prospective or retrospective studies. Case reports will not be considered.
